Sharpt Shutter Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 15, 2026
Sharpt Shutter is a Chrome extension for taking and editing screenshots. This policy explains what it handles and where that information goes. In short: your screenshots stay on your computer.
What Sharpt Shutter handles
Your screenshots. The image of the page, screen or window you choose to capture.
The page title and address of the tab you captured, shown at the top of the editor.
Your theme choice (light, dark or system).
Where it goes
Nowhere. Everything stays in Chrome on your device:
A capture is kept in Chrome's local storage only long enough to open it in the editor, and is replaced by your next capture or removed when you discard it.
Downloads are saved where you choose. Copying puts the image on your clipboard.
Sharpt Shutter has no servers and no accounts, and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking. It never sells or shares your information.
When it works
Sharpt Shutter only works on a tab after you click its icon or press its shortcut. It cannot see your other tabs or browsing.
Desktop capture uses Chrome's own screen picker. Nothing is captured until you choose a screen or window, then Sharpt Shutter grabs one still image and stops. Chrome shows that sharing is active while this happens.
Links
The "More from Sharpt" menu opens Sharpt pages in a new tab. Nothing is sent when you use it.
Chrome Web Store policy
Sharpt Shutter's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
